Winton selections 3rd September 2026

Harness analyst best tips:

Best Bet: R7 Duchess Maria

Best Value: R4 Fearthedance

Race 1

Aardie’s Ideal (6)
Finished off nicely on debut and should have taken plenty from the experience. Looks one of the hardest to beat.

Capital Jay (3)
Returns after racing some smart types last campaign and has prepared nicely. Drawn to get his chance fresh.

Princess Alia (2)
Showed plenty before making a late mistake fresh up. Better manners would put her right in the finish.

Race 2

Jay Jay Denario (3)
Has been battling away from tougher draws and gets a much better starting position. Looks a strong winning chance.

Honeycomb (9)
Finished strongly for second at Gore and meets similar company. Second row isn’t ideal but she can still feature.

Ward Lamon (2)
Recent form has been fair without threatening, but the draw and grade give him every chance to improve.

Race 3

Sensitive To A Smile (1)
Forget the latest after an error in difficult conditions. Earlier form was solid and the draw makes her a major chance.

Shakedown (4)
Has been chasing a smart rival recently and finds a more suitable maiden field. Genuine winning chance with manners.

Star Invasion (9)
Consistent without getting the job done and this looks a suitable assignment. Can definitely run top three again.

Race 4

Fearthedance (3)
Has been finishing his races off nicely and gets a significant draw improvement. Looks a good value chance.

Mea (2)
Worked early before fighting on well in stronger company last time. Nicely drawn and should be right in the finish.

Carbonate (4)
Made useful ground here last start and continues to race consistently. Gets another workable draw and has strong claims.

Race 5

Jaccka Jim (7)
Had little go his way last start after a much better previous effort. Drops in grade and can bounce back strongly.

Jet Stream (2)
Has been mixing his assignments recently and is difficult to line up. Capable enough to threaten in this company.

Aradne (4)
Forget the latest after getting things wrong. Two seconds beforehand read very well for this and she deserves another chance.

Race 6

Off The Canvas (4)
Chased home a smart stablemate last start after winning prior. Racing extremely well and gets a very good draw.

Jaccka Henry (2)
Returned with a good win and actually drops in grade for this. Drawn beautifully and looks a major danger.

Money In The Till (5)
Excellent second in stronger company last start. Similar effort would have her right in the finish here.

Race 7

Duchess Maria (5)
Classy mare returning after winning her last four starts. Three winning workouts have her ready and she looks very hard to beat.

Xerion (3)
Produced an excellent third here last start and gets the front-line advantage. Looks the biggest threat to the favourite.

Pyramid Rose (6)
Was in excellent form before being freshened and has trialled nicely for this. Twenty metres is the challenge but must be respected.

Race 8

Beluga (6)
Chased home a smart winner in stronger company last start and has been racing consistently. Looks very well placed here.

Rising Storm (2)
Progressive type who finished strongly to win here last time. Steps up in grade but gets a good draw to help.

Mr Cash Man (4)
Was too far back in stronger company last start. Better suited here and the improved draw gives him top-three claims.
