Harness racing hits Timaru again today with 11 races on the card. The racing starts at 11:10am and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Cheer The Captain (3) Trialing well and stable on fire. Should run top three in this field
Jukebox Gypsy (1) Draw will help and up to placing in this. Has to be included here
Melton Magnate (2) Getting better with racing and gets a good draw in this. Top three chance

Race 2

Beverley Courtney (7) Has been disappointing and normally slow away. Give one more chance
Poseidon (1) Has run some good trials in the past. Not the worst with a quick start from the draw
Ultura (3) Improver from his last start and weaker field. Should go a better race against this lot

Race 3

Banksy (10) Drawn for a soft pegs run and good run expected. One of the better chances in this
Molly Maeve Estelle (4) Stable goes good with first starters and trials ok. In the mix here. Needed
Crackle N Crunch (1) Good effort last start and nice draw. Can sneak into the top three from the ace

Race 4

Snooowgood (2) Stable respect and has run good time at the trials. Only needs manners to go close
Son E (12) Tricky draw but running on last start in a good field. Needs manners but could upset
Time For Victory (11) Big drop in class for this. Looks over the odds at $15 and worth including here

Race 5

Ultimate Counsel (8) Has been racing well in similar fields and looks a good bet Can begin quickly
He’s Tough (4) Better run last start and well placed here. Good each way chance if can find the front
The Conqueror (5) Will be fitter after last start run. Trained locally and better than the form suggests

Race 6

Crown The Moment (7) In good form for this and stable respect. Should give a good account here
Petite Trixton (4) Decent motor and is drawn well here. One of the better chances at longer odds
Lookslikeatrixter (8) Only fair last start but due to get back into form. At his best can run top three

Race 7

Lochdarragh (11) Tricky draw but racing well in stronger fields. Looks a good winning chance
Easy Art (7) Battled on ok last start and fitter now. Can go close to placing in this at longer odds
Whyamihere (6) First starter with good trial form. Top three chance with a good run in transit

Race 8

Bar Louie (6) Has a big reputation and should go close to winning here with a clean start. Needed
Deny Everything (8) Decent motor and top driver booked. Back in handicap but can run top three
Woodbine Rocks (2) Running on last start in a good field. Will continue to improve and place chance

Race 9

Lord Mudrick (7) Nice form but will need the right trip to win this. Has to be included for top three
Hit The Lights (2) Speedy when right and is drawn well here. One of the better chances in this
Anytime At All (4) Battle on last start but in a winnable grade. Drawn to get a soft run. Include

Race 10

Barrytown (7) Has raced well in similar fields. Trained locally and looks a good bet. Top selection
My Royal Break (6) Better than most in this field and just needs manners. Has to be respected in this
Love Walked In (5) From a strike rate stable. Could surprise with a soft run in transit. Include here

Race 11

Social Distancing (7) Good beginner and top driver booked. Can lead and get a soft trip here
Kowhai Nugget (5) Conditions suit and good second here last start. Will be running on in this
She’s A Jewel (2) Likely to race close to the speed in this. Trainer change and can go back to back
