Harness Analyst – Northfield 27th December

We have another competitive mid week harness racing card at Northfield Park, the “Home of the Flying Turns” tonight (Dec. 27).

Here is my full analysis of the 15-race card and some multi-race tickets to consider. Good Luck with your plays.

Best Bet – I FEAR NOTHING – Race 9

Spot Play – PANTHER TIME – Race 5

$1 Pick 4 – Race 2 – 236/6/14/3567 = $24

$1 Pick 5 – Race 6 – 128/1458/13/1/35 = $48

$1 Pick 4 – Race 11 – 156/14/4/1 = $6

Race 1 – 2-3-4-6-5

(2) WOODMERE JADE gets critical post position advantage on her main rivals here and that gives her a chance to control this race from the outset. I like her to top the Super High-5.

Race 2 – 6-3-2-5

This race kicks off the early Pick 4. (6) L B’s LEGACY was a wire-to-wire winner in the snow here last week and he gets the call to repeat in a spot where his speed should again play well.

Race 3 – 6-4-5-9

(6) MAKE MORE HAPPEN almost overcame a tough trip to win here last week and she is a clear top choice and Pick 4 single.

Race 4 – 1-4-2-3

(1) MAKING DREAMS is the one to beat here coming off a front end win and drawing the rail, but (4) LONG TOM BABE also merits a close look shipping in from Dayton Raceway to face easier.

Race 5 – 6-5-7-3

(6) PANTHER TIME was close last time despite getting a troubled trip and I’ll call him to upset hoping to create some Pick 4 value.

Race 6 – 2-1-8-3

This is the opening leg of the $1 Pick 5. (2) BANK BREAKS got a tightener from the widest post at The Meadows, and she is likely to improve sharply in this spot. Call to upset.

Race 7 – 4-5-8-1

(4) VIRGINS BEACH BOY gets his best post in several weeks here and he is capable vs. these if he gets a decent trip. Call to upset.

Race 8 – 1-3-4-2

(1) ROGERTHAT BLUECHIP draws best in a spot where he should have a good chance to control the race on the lead throughout; top call.

Race 9 – 1-2-9-7

(1) I FEAR NOTHING is the clear top choice here on the class drop and he will be a Pick 5 single for me.

Race 10 – 3-5-1-2

Wide-open race here to finish off the Pick 5. I’ll side with (3) YANKEE TIME who draws well for the first time in several weeks.

Race 11 – 1-5-6-9

This race kicks off the late Pick 4 and I’ll side with (1) EASILY AMUSED who comes off a sharp win and draws best.

Race 12 – 4-1-9-2

(4) WINNER IS COMING races tough every week and he should be tough to beat in this spot.

Race 13 – 4-2-1-9-5

This should be an easy spot for (4) VANILLA MALTED who has been facing tougher racing at Rideau Carlton; Pick 4 single.

Race 14 – 1-5-2-3

(1) SHAMROCK takes a big drop here and he should convert as a big chalk starting from the rail.

Race 15 – 2-3-1-7

(2) NIMBLE NED should go much better in this spot facing easier and drawing much better.
