Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R10 Mystery Creek
Best Value: R9 Secret Agent Man
Race 1
Turbulent (5)
Showed plenty of determination when second on debut. Should improve with that experience and looks a strong winning chance in this field.
On Ya Bike (6)
Returned to form with a good second last start. Wider draw but has the ability to feature again with a suitable run.
Rakero Falcon (3)
Resumes after showing promise in his previous campaign. Recent trials have been mixed, but gets a reasonable draw and could surprise at odds.
Race 2
Zoom X (8)
Four placings from his last five starts. Another solid second at Timaru and looks capable of going close again. Usually steps ok
Changeforthebeta (7)
Returned from a spell with a strong second at Addington. Should strip fitter and can step quickly. Has to be included here
Country Gold (1)
Has been racing well in similar company and should appreciate the front mark. John Dunn takes the drive and looks a genuine top-three chance.
Race 3
Tyron Everest (2)
Resumes after winning his last start in June against useful opposition. Has shown plenty of ability and looks hard to beat with a clean beginning.
KD Grins (5)
Made an uncharacteristic mistake at Oamaru last start. Better than that performance and can be competitive if he trots throughout.
Monarch Prince (8)
Followed an Addington victory with a third at Oamaru. Racing in good form and should be involved in the finish again. Place chance.
Race 4
Cruise Maguire (7)
Disappointed at Addington last start after winning at the previous appearance. Has enough ability to bounce back and looks a leading chance.
My Wingman (9)
Has been struggling to finish his races recently. The second-row draw may provide a suitable trip and he could improve at longer odds.
Bruno Brigade (1)
Finished strongly at Addington last start and has been racing better than his results suggest. The ace draw helps and can run into the placings.
Race 5
Luvavici (4)
Had a tough run at Ashburton last start and is better than that result suggests. Starts from the front mark and looks well placed to improve.
Vertigo (6)
Has been racing consistently this spring and was not far away at Ashburton. Ten-metre handicap but has the ability to go close.
Brett’s Mate (1)
Another useful placing last start and continues to race honestly. Gets the front mark and should be competitive throughout. Include.
Race 6
Tee Ball (7)
Has been holding his form against useful opposition and drops back in grade here. Starts from the front mark and looks a strong winning chance.
Admor Ella (4)
Returned from a spell with a convincing victory at Timaru. Promising filly who should be capable of winning again in this company.
Larissa Beaudiene (2)
Had excuses at Oamaru last start after showing better form earlier. Gets a favourable starting position and can run into the money.
Race 7
Mo’unga (5)
Former Kaikoura Cup winner who has shown improvement in his last two starts. Has the class to feature again and looks a good each-way chance.
It’s Tough (4)
Made up considerable ground at Ashburton last start. Drawn to settle handy and should give a good account in this field. Needed.
Captains Mistress (8)
Brilliant mare chasing her seventh consecutive victory. Has been aimed at this race and looks the one they all have to beat despite the wide draw.
Race 8
Nellie Doyle (8)
Has been holding her form well with two recent placings. Faces stronger opposition but starts from the front mark and has place claims.
Maui (5)
Has been racing better than his recent results suggest and has placed at this track previously. Starts from the front mark and could surprise at odds.
Penelope Lane (7)
Returned to winning form with a strong front-running performance down south. Steps up in grade but has the speed to remain competitive.
Race 9
Secret Agent Man (5)
Had little luck finding room at Ascot Park last start after winning two starts earlier. Front mark gives him a big advantage and looks a good winning chance. Best value.
The Jolly Roger (8)
Has been racing consistently against useful opposition. Starts from the unruly but has enough ability to feature with a clean beginning.
Tact Teva (10)
Has won four of his last five starts and is racing in excellent form. The twenty-metre handicap is the concern, but he remains a major threat.
Race 10
Mystery Creek (5)
Talented pacer resuming after two encouraging trials. Has raced against stronger opposition and looks well placed to win fresh. Best bet.
Cheer The Captain (4)
Has finished third in his last two starts and continues to race well. Good draw and should be prominent throughout. Winning claims.
Marble Arch (7)
Drops back in grade after meeting stronger opposition recently. Wide draw but has the speed to finish strongly and could surprise.
