Harness analyst - Invercargill 27th August

Harness racing hits Ascot Park again today with a ten race program starting at 12:36pm and in this video we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Pat The Monkey  good first up for new trainer. Blair Orange sticks with an should be hard to beat here at good odds.…… Davey Mac gets the distance to suit but 50/50 on the manners. Can win with no mistakes.… Miss Jessica fairly reliable and she should be in or near the lead early. One for longer odds …. Cuddly Trouble running some decent races without a lot of luck and still some life in those old legs. Place chances best

Race 2

Roll With Eunice good second fresh and drawn to lead early. Top selection here……. Wattlebank Lass another going ok against strong fields, Must be due a win soon…… Jonique a bit unlucky last start but tricky draw. Not the worst and needed here…… Mary Robyn has a bit of ability but tough field here. Can run top three with top driver booked.

Race 3

Handsome Harry fresh up for strike rate stable and trials ok. Watch the tote for any moves.….Racing Minister tidy finish from back on the fence last start. Winning claims if he can stay handy….. Von Art terrible draw but has been racing better fields. Place chances best…. Mach O'Melley one paced but follows the right horse. Could surprise at good odds

Race 4

Jabali strikes a winnable race and draw suits. Can win if he can find the front early….. Swift Robyn Ok last start in a stronger field. Goes close with a good run in transit….. Tad Lincoln good trailing draw here and he is a place hope at nice money if the pace is on all the way…. Mighty George draw not great but has been racing well without luck. Can win if things go his way

Race 5

Braeview Kelly has been racing well and getting fitter. Should be winning this…… Annie Fitz trailing draw which is her go. Can run top three if she can clear traffic… Ohoka Bandit bit disappointing last start but his previous couple of starts before that were good. No surprise to see him in the money here….. Dallas Grimes has been freshened and he has ability.  Might be over the odds and can place.

Race 6

Lynryd Skynryd classy at best and was ok last start. Can run top three and top selection here at nice money ….. Petrea Bromac tidy form against strong field last start and will be fitter. Good winning chance.…… Scotlynn Beach Boy getting fitter after racing at Addington. Needed here… Don Coyote running good trials but tricky draw. Watch the tote for moves but can win

Race 7

Burlington good win last start but this is harder. Will need luck but good winning claims again……. Rocknroll King stand a slight concern but second last start was ok. Winning claims at longer odds.… Burnham Boy racing well but strong field here. Has a good chance of running in the money if he can step and run early….. Vintage Cheddar getting fitter but big handicap to overcome. Place hopes best

Race 8

Franco Huntington big run to place last start. Over the odds and can place again…….Miss Mucho will be fitter for her last start effort where she did take some money. Draw suits and can win.… Wecandream drops out of a stronger field for this. Needs the right trip but has winning claims….. Miss Impression in top form last couple and small field will help. Include here

Race 9

Humble Ladd always running on but needs a hot pace to figure here. Can go close even from the 30m handicap……. Dark Horse class horse of the field but big handicap to overcome. Can win with a swift beginning..… King Cassidy likes the pace on all the way and a bit one paced. Place chances best here….. Christmas Babe good win in a lower grade last start but has ability. Gets a head start on the better horses and has claims.

Race 10

Ariella coming in fresh but has the top draw. Can run top three with a good run in transit……. Art Courage strikes a draw to suit and winning claims at big odds with top driver on and a run close to the pace..… Maximus Prost terrible draw to contend with but obvious ability. Include….. Ultimate Sassenach going to be tough from the draw but good run last . Place claims best
