Cambridge selections 31st July 2026

Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R3  Lucky As
Best Value: R6  Debrief

Race 1

Miss Brabant (6)
Just run down at Auckland last week and has always gone well around Cambridge. Looks well placed back here and should be right in the finish.

Clouding Over (4)
Recent form has been below her best but she gets a better opportunity from this draw. Capable of improving and one for longer odds.

Billy The Kid (2)
Had no favours from the draw last start after a good placing prior. Much better gate here and looks a strong each-way chance.

Race 2

Sharp N Smooth (5)
Very good fresh up when second and should improve with that run behind him. Manners remain important but he looks one of the better chances.

Fleur De Lis (1)
Still learning but has shown improvement with each start. Gets the best draw tonight and can be right amongst them.

Iron Rose (2)
Late mistake cost her last start after a promising debut. Has ability and only needs to get things right to be a major player.

Race 3

Lucky As (2)
Another good effort at Auckland last week and continues to knock on the door. Drawn nicely and gets a genuine chance to break through.

Evernden (1)
Runner-up in his last two and racing as well as anything in this field. Ace draw is another plus and he should be hard to beat.

Wynberg Belle (9)
Has shown enough in three starts to suggest a win isn’t far away. Second row is the concern but she can get into the money with the right trip.

Race 4

Shes All Legs (2)
Good effort when second here last start and gets another big chance from the front tape. Racing consistently and looks hard to leave out.

Sans Au Revoir (6)
Hasn’t been at her best lately but she is capable when things fall her way. Needs to lift but could surprise at decent odds.

Elizabeth Hill (12)
Back in good form with placings at her last two starts. The handicap makes things tougher but she is going well enough to overcome it.

Race 5

Sammy Lincoln (6)
Gets some relief in grade and should appreciate being back on the front line. Better than recent form suggests and looks a strong winning chance.

Dear God (2)
Back to the short course which suits and lands a very good draw. Can settle handy and is worth including at odds.

Yankee Flybye (10)
Has been racing well at Auckland and brings solid form into this. Second row isn’t ideal but she should get her chance with the right run.

Race 6

Debrief (2)
Fresh-up run was better than it looks and he should strip fitter tonight. Drawn to get every chance and can improve sharply.

Imposing Sea (1)
Dominant winner here last start and now lands the ace. Harder grade but gets the perfect setup to make it two in a row.

Midfrew Lando (6)
Two strong seconds lately and continues to race well. Draw isn’t perfect but he looks ready to win another one.

Race 7

Very Majestic (4)
Got the job done here a fortnight ago and has been racing consistently. Tougher from the handicap but she remains one of the main chances.

Kink (7)
Hasn’t shown his best in the latest couple but earlier form was strong. Needs to bounce back but has enough ability to be dangerous.

Shez Bella (6)
Made ground when resuming at Auckland and should be better for the outing. Extra distance suits and she can improve at odds.

Race 8

Another Collect (3)
Strong winner here last start and looks capable of going on with it. Good draw again and should be right in the action.

Cyamate (1)
Had little go his way from the second row last start. Ace draw changes things completely and he looks a genuine each-way chance.

Big Herb (9)
Forget the last run when things didn’t work out. Gets the economical second-row draw and can be dangerous with the right gaps.

Race 9

The Jolly Roger (1)
Mixed results lately but this is a much better setup from the ace. Has the speed to use the draw and looks a solid chance.

Beta Prepare (4)
Hasn’t been far away and there was merit in his latest Auckland efforts. Gets a workable draw and can get into the finish.

Leo Lincoln (2)
Very good second at Auckland last week and has a solid record around Cambridge. Drawn perfectly and looks one of the main threats.

Race 10

Brass Razoo (10)
Good third here last start and continues to race honestly. The unruly draw isn’t ideal but he has to be considered again.

Scoots (5)
Had excuses here two starts ago and his Auckland run prior was good. Gets his chance in this grade and looks a solid each-way hope.

Tatanka (12)
Did the job comfortably to win his maiden last start and looks capable of stepping up. Harder assignment but he has plenty of upside.

Race 11

The Miki Taker (4)
Has been thereabouts in his last three without getting the result. Drawn to settle closer tonight and this looks a good opportunity.

Big Wheels (6)
Needed the run when returning from a long break. Should improve plenty from that and could be one to include at longer odds.

King Of Memvis (2)
Didn’t fire last time but gets another favourable draw in a moderate maiden. Worth another chance and can get into the money.
