Banks Peninsula selections 20 September 2026

Harness analyst best tips:

Best Bet: R3 Lap It Up

Best Value: R5 Tattooed Lady

Race 1

Aldebaran Lobell (4)

Placed in all three starts last campaign and has trialled nicely for his return. Looks a major winning chance.

Second Thoughts (1)

Much better at Oamaru after making mistakes fresh. Gets the inside and can be right in the finish.

Georgia Trouble (12)

Finished strongly for second at Methven and continues to race consistently. Definite top-three chance despite the draw.

Race 2

Peraki Lad (8)

Worked hard and still fought on well at Methven. Should improve from that and looks one of the hardest to beat.

Harry’s Gold (6)

Had little chance after getting shuffled back at Methven. Earlier Addington run was better and he can improve.

Bella Ciao (12)

Has gone close several times and brings consistent form into this. Second row makes it tougher but she can feature.

Race 3

Lap It Up (7)

Very good third when resuming at Methven and should be fitter now. Looks a strong winning chance.

Mithali (3)

Returns after finishing last campaign with two placings. Nicely drawn and capable of going close fresh.

Valletta (8)

Won her recent qualifier and now makes her debut. Wide draw isn’t ideal but she’s worth including.

Race 4

Premier Arden (2)

Returns after a good trial second and lands a favourable draw. Looks capable of making a winning return.

B J Hunnicutt (5)

Good effort at Ashburton and his maiden win came on grass. Looks well suited back on this surface.

Times Like These (3)

Has produced some of her better form on grass. Fresh record is the concern but the draw gives her a chance.

Race 5

Tattooed Lady (5)

Forget the Methven run after a much better debut effort. Open race and she looks an interesting value chance.

Jennifer Robyn (3)

Needed her fresh-up run and has since won a trial nicely. Better expected today from a handy draw.

Baby Come Back (7)

Has been mixing her form but is capable of better than recent results suggest. Worth including in the multiples.

Race 6

Moonlite CC (4)

Good third at Addington and has already won on this track. Looks very well placed in this grade.

Tallandfast (1)

Made ground from the back at Addington after struggling in the Methven conditions. Ace draw gives her a better chance.

Apatchofgold (8)

Has useful grass-track form and can improve on recent efforts. Wide draw means she’ll need some luck.

Race 7

Valyrian (11)

Very good when resuming at Ashburton and has shown enough ability to win this grade. Strong chance despite the draw.

Holly Highlander (3)

Forget the Oamaru mistake. Proven on grass and gets a much better opportunity from this draw.

MM Sunshine (4)

Has been racing consistently and is usually reliable from a stand. Looks a solid top-three chance.

Race 8

Franco Humbie (5)

Didn’t get everything his way at Ashburton and still went reasonably well. Capable of figuring with the right run.

Motor Mouth (1)

Good effort from the second row at Methven and now lands the ace. Should get every opportunity from here.

The Highlander (10)

Produced a useful effort from a difficult draw at Methven. Second row again but can get into the multiples.

Race 9

Tee Ball (10)

Went very close at Addington and brings strong form into this. Handicap makes it harder but he’s still a major chance.

Ma Belle Amie Franco (2)

Unlucky not to finish closer at Addington last start. Nicely placed from the front and should be right in the finish.

Festus Haggen (3)

Has a good record on grass and produced a strong recent trial. Front mark gives him an each-way chance.

Race 10

Premium Player (13)

Proven grass-track performer with six wins on the surface. Big handicap is the concern but he’s capable at longer odds.

Barrytown (5)

Finished his last campaign with a win and has a good record here. Can make his presence felt fresh.

Val Thorens (2)

Has settled into some consistent trotting form and starts from the front. Looks capable of another strong showing.

Race 11

I’m Rockin (2)

Form has been mixed but he usually races honestly and gets a very useful draw. Solid each-way chance.

Nickel And Dime (6)

Returns after an inconsistent last campaign but has shown he can handle the grass. Worth including fresh.

Donttelltheboys (11)

Too strong at Methven last start and comes here in good order. Harder assignment but capable of featuring again.
