Harness analyst - Auckland 18th December

Welcome to the Harness Analyst series where we take a look at New Zealand's harness racing with free previews,tips and reviews of trials and the previous weeks racing.

Harness racing hits Alexandra Park tonight with an eight race program starting at 6:39pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a nice day of racing.

Race 1

Hot And Treacherous  racing against much stronger fields and a big dropback in grade. Tricky draw but top selection .…… Smokinhotcheddar form has tapered off slightly but has the speed to run into the placing here. Include..… Raven Banner has been thereabouts in all his races but place chances look best here. Upset chance…… Dolce Vita runs the odd good race and not the worst here. Another with gate speed who might head forward early

Race 2

Asteria Lavra getting it wrong at the start but has the ability and a trainer change. Hard to beat with manners.……. Ivegotbills has the ability and weaker field here. Can go close and will get a run near the leaders…… Mountain Mass nice third fresh up and looks one of the leading chances in the race. Needed……San Diego Sunrise first starter from a strike rate stable so has to be respected. Winning claims

Race 3

Italian Lad  up from Canterbury and good workout form. Should give a good sight in this field….. Outlaw Man one paced but drawn to get a run through early. The probable leader who could upset at nice odds….. Braeview Kelly has the ability to beat a field like this and form is very good. Include….. La Rosa  big in defeat last start in a strong field. Good chance to get run top three.

Race 4

Call Me Trouble galloped last start and tricky draw. Can handle this field if he trots all the way ….. Gaz Man coming in fresh but manners a concern. Hard to beat if handy turning for home….. Natty Pagger racing ok and is reliable at the start. Can run top three….. Emma Frost likely to get a good run close to the lead and looks a place hope here at nice odds

Race 5

Christianshavtime tidy win last start and drawn well. This is harder but has claims ….. Gambit racing into form and drawn favourably. Upset claims at longer odds….. Mach Shard good gate speed and might lead here. Winning claims with no midrace attacks….. Triple Eight tricky draw but has beaten better fields than this. One of the leading chances

Race 6

Anditover conditions suit and raceday form is pretty good. Will be hard to beat with manners.…. She Reigns tricky handicap but has a lot of speed and fast beginner. Can run top three in this field…… Son Of Patrick raced well in age group racing and should get a good run from the draw. Should be close to the placings..… Kristofferson coming in fresh and will be a stronger trotter. Could upset with a good run in transit

Race 7

Bettor Listen in good form and conditions suit here. Hard to beat if he goes forward early.…. Cowboys N Bandits first starter with ok workout form. Tote the guide but has claims  ….. Sing To Me speedy when caught in the right mood and drawn well. Can place at nice odds…. Art Nouveau in good form but tricky draw. Place claims here

Race 8

Cyclone Lucky Linda has been good at workouts and should give a good account at the first start….. Romeo Foxtrot good draw and has the speed to compete with these. Winning chance at longer odds ….. Cepheus good staying type who gets in well here. He will be finishing on if the pace is on all the way. Include…. Storms Acoming freshened but has ability. Could upset if he trots all the way.…..
