Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R10 Tour Party
Best Value: R11 Franco Ankara
Race 1
I’m The Boss (3)
Group 3 winner returning after two solid winter trials. Has the race experience and looks very hard to beat fresh.
Lean On Me (2)
Trial winner last month and has backed that up with another useful hit-out. Big chance on debut.
Loveatfirstlight (1)
Has had enough trial experience to be ready for this. Ace draw helps but hard to see her beating the stablemate
Race 2
Request (7)
Won comfortably here last start and clearly has a big motor. Harder grade but capable of winning again.
Chocta (1)
Consistent through the winter and gets the ideal draw after a short break. Strong each-way chance.
Royal Del (5)
Followed his Addington win with a respectable fifth in a stronger race. Well placed to be competitive again.
Race 3
Major Lazarus (2)
Very good second on debut and should improve with the experience. Better draw makes him a major winning chance.
Aardie’s Memphis (11)
Nice trial winner heading into his debut. Second row is the concern but clearly has the speed to run top three with luck.
Shez Assured (3)
Has been given plenty of time and produced an ok trial ahead of this return. Nicely drawn and worth including.
Race 4
Montara (9)
Got the maiden win last time and now steps into stronger company. Progressive enough to make the jump at value.
Tessamae (10)
Freshened since winning in this grade in June. Awkward draw but her best form gives her genuine claims.
Majestic Monkey (1)
Going extremely well this campaign and gets the perfect draw after another win. Hard to leave out.
Race 5
Hawk Touie Louie (1)
Returns after showing good improvement last campaign. Gets the ace and looks capable of a big fresh-up effort.
Flying Holme (12)
Did too much work last start but is better than that result suggests. Tough draw but can improve sharply.
Royal Belle (3)
Has found winning form since changing stables and gets another favourable draw. Strong chance to make it three straight.
Race 6
Luvavici (5)
Good third fresh and should strip fitter for this. Starts from the front and looks one of the hardest to beat.
B D Hall (3)
Very encouraging second when resuming and also gets the front mark. Should be right in the finish again.
What The Dragon (9)
Quality gelding returning after an excellent winning sequence. Trialled nicely and must be respected despite the 10m handicap.
Race 7
Sacetas (5)
Prepared for this with a recent workout win and showed plenty last campaign. Capable of making a winning return.
Nothing But You (2)
Has barely put a foot wrong this campaign and finally lands a favourable draw. Looks a major winning chance.
Spirit Downunder (6)
Freshened since beating a useful field in May. Has won fresh before and deserves plenty of respect here.
Race 8
Habibti Pat (7)
High class mare returning from a break and already proven from a stand. Starts from the front and looks a huge chance.
Mighty Logan (10)
Quality open-class trotter with an excellent fresh up record. 10 metres won’t make it easy but he can still go close here.
Midnight Dash (8)
Charged home for second in the Basil Dean and should be fitter again. Distance suits despite the 10m handicap.
Race 9
The Lazarus Effect (1)
Brilliant winner fresh here and looks to have returned in outstanding order. The horse they all have to beat.
Franco Sinatra (4)
Prepared for this with a strong trial win and has been racing consistently. Tougher company but worth including.
Mo’unga (5)
Produced his usual strong finish when second to The Lazarus Effect last start. Looks the obvious danger again.
Race 10
Tour Party (8)
Unbeaten through four starts and looked sharp winning his latest trial. Draw isn’t ideal but he looks a serious talent.
Chiggsy (9)
Showed plenty as a juvenile and returns with strong credentials. Second row makes it tricky but he has the ability.
Faith Not Fear (6)
Impressive winning on debut with a big finish. Much stronger field now but clearly has plenty of upside.
Race 11
Franco Ankara (1)
Game winner of the Rising Stars Final and now gets a big draw advantage over his main rivals. Strong chance again.
Franco Lomu (7)
Has made rapid progress this campaign and only narrowly missed last week. Draw is tougher but he’s right in this.
Freeze Frame (5)
Returns with an excellent fresh record and won his latest trial comfortably. Definite upset chance in a strong field.
Race 12
Cheer The Captain (4)
Fought on well for third when resuming at Oamaru. Should improve from that and has the speed to get involved early.
Commander Ben (5)
Much better effort last week and now drops into an easier grade. Looks capable of figuring prominently.
Heaven’s Mark (9)
Recent form has dropped away and she needs to rediscover her best. Worth including at longer odds.
