Addington selections 28th August 2026
Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R8 Captain Tyron
Best Value: R9 Semba
Race 1
Beside Me (6)
Won strongly here before a break and returns in a very suitable race. Has enough quality to go close again fresh.
Winelight (3)
Mixed it with some good mares earlier in the year and trialled nicely for this return. Major threat from the draw.
Amaretto Franco (5)
Finished off well again last week and gets a slightly better starting position. Racing consistently and must be included.
Race 2
Regal Summit (4)
Four seconds in succession tells the story. Continues to race honestly and looks another strong top-three chance.
Evolution (9)
Two encouraging starts to begin her career and has trialled well since. Wide draw is the concern but she has upside.
Suttle (8)
Showed plenty as a juvenile and has won both trials this campaign. Looks ready to make a serious winning return.
Race 3
Tomogalak (6)
Very good stepping out of maiden company last week and should keep improving. Looks one of the better winning chances.
Jesse Owens (3)
Hasn’t enjoyed much luck lately and finally gets a useful draw. Capable of turning things around sharply tonight.
Berrettini (9)
Latest effort was better and he has beaten stronger fields previously. Wide gate hurts but worth including at odds.
Race 4
Didn’t Di (5)
Comes in off a good trial win and gets the mobile for the first time. Looks capable of making an immediate impact.
Hoof It Hagrid (7)
Had nowhere to go at a crucial stage last start. Very good mobile record and looks one of the strongest chances here.
Tu Tangata (9)
Returns from a break after an honest campaign. Draw isn’t ideal but has enough ability to get into the multiples.
Race 5
Sidestepper (3)
Chased well here last week and should appreciate another mobile assignment. Drawn nicely and looks hard to beat.
Dont Think Just Doo (2)
Did enough on debut to suggest there is improvement to come. Better draw gives him every opportunity tonight.
Orlando Wish (5)
Has finished off nicely in both career starts. Still learning but looks close to putting everything together.
Race 6
Royal Monarch (7)
Talented youngster who won impressively on debut and has trialled well for the return. Wide draw but has plenty of ability.
La Venture (2)
Group Three runner-up earlier in the season and has been good in two trials back. Drawn to get every chance.
Eyes Wide Open (5)
Unraced but has looked sharp at the trials and comes from a strong family. Could be very good and must be respected.
Race 7
Suspicious Captain (9)
Used his speed to win well at Oamaru and continues to progress. Wide front-row draw but looks capable of going back-to-back.
Giorgio Denario (5)
Returns after a solid autumn preparation and won his latest trial comfortably. Good draw makes him an attractive EW chance.
Flying Holme (10)
Won here last start after working early and is clearly going well. Second row changes the equation but still a major player.
Race 8
Captain Tyron (8)
Put together three consecutive wins last campaign and flew home in his latest trial. Wide draw shouldn’t stop him if he’s near his best.
Asymmetric Return (5)
Two wins on end and finally delivering on her early promise. Draw is workable and she deserves plenty of respect.
Classie Linc (6)
Latest form doesn’t leap off the page but she’s capable of better. Can run into the top three with the right trip.
Race 9
Semba (5)
Only narrowly beaten at Oamaru and now comes forward to the 10m mark. Looks very well placed and appeals at value.
Bannockburn (2)
Impressive winning at Oamaru and gets the front mark again. This is harder but current form makes him dangerous.
Bryce’s Meddle (9)
Went very close here two starts back and is better placed from 10m tonight. Strong winning chance with a clean getaway.
Race 10
Kawatiri Trev (5)
Has won four of only six starts and took down a useful field before his spell. Big chance if he trots throughout.
Luvavici (3)
Has competed against stronger company and gets a handy draw for his return. No public lead-up but class takes him a long way.
Almighty (2)
Usually very reliable and gets one of the better draws. Latest run was below her best but she can bounce straight back.
