Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R4 Tempo Warrior
Best Value: R1 Paige
Race 1
Paige (1)
Has struggled to make an impression in recent starts but gets a favourable draw in a small field. Capable of sneaking into the placings with a clean beginning.
Sheila Laxon (2)
Produced another ok performance last week after a solid effort at Timaru. Nicely drawn and looks one of the strongest winning chances.
KD Grins (4)
Had been racing consistently before a luckless effort at Timaru. Better than that result suggests and looks capable of bouncing back.
Race 2
Ben From Accounts (6)
Produced an excellent debut third last week and looked a horse ready to win next time out. Should improve and looks very hard to beat.
Calypso
Better than the form suggests and has upset claims at longer odds with a nice sit close to the speed. Worth including in combinations.
Wednesday Night Chat (8)
Produced a brave second on debut last week after enjoying a good run along the markers. Wider draw makes things tougher but looks capable of featuring.
Race 3
Smoking Ashes (5)
Had little luck again last week and has been racing better than his form suggests. Looks well placed to produce an improved performance and is the one to beat.
Here Comes Marty (4)
Has produced several strong performances on the track recently. Drawn nicely and should be prominent throughout. In the mix in this field
Anytime At All (11)
Has returned in excellent form with two consecutive seconds. Second-row draw makes things awkward but she has genuine winning claims.
Race 4
Tempo Warrior (4)
Had little luck at his latest appearance and steps quickly to get into a prominent position. Looks a major winning chance in this company.
Rapid Response (3)
Continues to race consistently and has gone close in several recent starts. Nicely drawn and looks capable of finally getting another top three.
Blastfromthepast (2)
Produced a strong finish to grab third at his latest appearance. Excellent draw gives him every chance to feature again.
Race 5
Social Experiment (6)
Returns from a spell after showing some ability during his previous campaign. Has yet to produce her best form from mobile starts but could surprise if ready to go fresh.
Hungry Bronnie (7)
Followed an impressive Timaru maiden victory with another brave performance last week. Wide draw is the concern but she looks a major winning chance.
Matilda Too (2)
Disappointed at Motukarara after winning impressively at Methven. Better draw gives her every opportunity to bounce back.
Race 6
Don’t Tell Jenny (7)
Returns from a spell after finishing her previous campaign with several honest performances. Has raced well fresh before and looks capable of making an immediate impact.
Mr Cash Man (3)
Gets a much better draw after some difficult recent assignments. Has enough ability to improve sharply and looks an interesting each-way chance.
Harry Belafonte (11)
Produced a strong victory at Methven before another solid effort at Timaru. Second-row draw makes things tougher but he looks capable of featuring.
Race 7
Mouton Cadet (6)
Has finished second in four of his last five starts and continues to race in excellent form. Looks overdue for another victory and is clearly the horse to beat.
Okiwi Bay (4)
Produced a useful fifth last week and gets a better opportunity to settle handy. Looks capable of improving enough to feature in the combinations.
Whyamihere (5)
Has been racing below his best but showed reasonable form earlier in the campaign. Needs to improve his manners but could sneak into the placings.
Race 8
Clovelly Hill (7)
Has produced two encouraging performances since resuming and fought on after leading last week. Wide draw is awkward but he looks a genuine winning chance.
Majestic Me (11)
Had little luck at Oamaru after producing some useful earlier performances. Second-row draw isn’t ideal but looks capable of getting into the finish.
Florence The Machine (3)
Was unlucky last week after another solid performance previously. Excellent draw gives her every chance to make amends and looks very hard to beat.
Race 9
Dawn To Dark (5)
Produced an excellent second at his latest appearance and looks close to another victory. Drawn to get a good run and looks the horse to beat.
Auntie Deb (7)
Has struggled to recapture his winning form from July but possesses enough ability to improve. Wide draw makes things difficult but has outside place claims.
The Bettor Major (8)
Produced a strong fourth in this grade before having little luck in a stronger field last week. Wide draw is the concern but he looks a genuine winning chance.
