The second leg of the inspiring Trophee Vert series was at Tours-Chambray in the Prix PMU le Saint-Cloud (purse 50,000€, 3500 meters distance handicap on the turf, 16 starters ages 6-10).

Here the 30/1 odds and 50 meter handicapped Grace du Digeon (9f Seduisant Fonteau-Ancolice de Laigne-Tenor de Baune) scored with a wide rally in the lane with Matthieu Abrivard at the lines. The winner scored for the 21st time in 76 career starts for 587,770€.
Charles Dreux trains and owns this mare that Pierre Forgin bred. She is trotting simplicity in action.
Home second was 4.6/1 Greco Bello (9g Un Mec d’Heripre-Salsa Bella) with Antoine Wiels driving for owner/trainer J.P. Marmion, also overcoming a 50 meter penalty. Remi Boucret bred this one.
The 1.4/1 odds favorite Imperator d’Ela (7g Carat Williams-Reville) landed third with Anthony Barrier up for trainer Matthieu Varin traveling the stated distance of 3500 meters.
The top five was completed by 5.6/1 Jour de Fete (6m Orlando Vici) for trainer/driver Nicolas Bazire and 10/1 Inshot Josselyn (7g Carat Williams) for J.Ph. Monclin, the later handicapped 25 meters.

Now the Trophee Vert point standings show Grace du Digeon with 15, Hades de L’Iton with 12 and Flocon Montjeanois at 12 points.
Separately in France the young reinsman Benjamin Richard reached the 1,000 win plateau. It’s actually 1,003 in FR and an added win in SWE. 336 of those wins are in monte tests. This year Rochard ranks second in combined sulky and monte victories.

Additionally it was announced that the Tour Europeen for FR trotteurs will have five legs that begin August 5 at Mons Belgium. The finale of this series is set for October 25 back at Mons. It’s always a great entertaining series for aged performers.
The next top level trot in FR is the April 19 Gr. I Prix de L’Atlantique (purse 200,000€, 2150 meters autostart, 29 engaged to date ages 4-11) and a great likely field it will be as the engaged performers illustrate with Go On Boy and Etonnant being Elitloppet invites:
