A very strong eight-race card is the highlight of Sunday afternoon’s harness racing meeting at the Goulburn Paceway.
Featuring two $10,000 heats of the Menangle Country Series and a leg of the Harness Breeders NSW Princess Series, punters and racing fans will have much to enjoy.
Starting at 12.52pm the locals will have their work cut out. Club Menangle Where Horses Fly is the first of the $10,000 Menangle Series races and a capacity field of 12 will line up, with the Crookwell contingent looking the hardest to beat.
The Allport family owned Keilor Misty (gate 3) has impressed winning her last two starts at Canberra in restricted company in sub two-minute times. In a field with many genuine chances, Keilor Misty is the best drawn and appeals as a strong chance to lead from start to finish. Bigga trainer Dennis Picker will start the well performed Stitched Up, who has drawn gate 13.
Race 7, the Goulburn Mazda – Club Menangle Country Series is the second of the $10,000 Menangle Series heats. The Hewitt family stable will start five of the nine-horse field will have opposition from the very well performed Ned Pepper.
Trained by Katie Jenner from Young, the six-year-old gelding has won six from 15 starts this season, and most recently an impressive winner at Canberra. Brad Hewitt will start Deecaesar (gate 9) and Miracle Smile (gate 1) and with both pacers having excellent recent form.
Gates to the course will be open from 11.30am at the Grace Millson Function Centre.
