Family in need after a tragic run

By Harnesslink ·

A Cardigan participant has called on the trots’ generous community to support her family, which has been stricken by tragedy.

Katrina Fitzpatrick, a trots trainer, owner and breeder, has launched a fundraising page for her daughter Kylie, who’s grieving the loss of her Grandma and stillborn daughter.

Ms Fitzpatrick has launched the gofundme page to support Kylie and her daughters Sienna and Tia after Kylie’s husband, Nigel, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

Ms Fitzpatrick said Nigel was only 41 and the “thought of him not seeing his girls grow up breaks my heart into pieces”.

She said it was a horrible blow for Kylie, having come on the back of the loss of a daughter, Alena, at birth, and her Grandma Noela, “who was like her best friend”.

“Kylie remained the strongest person during this time, always being positive and putting on the brave face for everyone around,” Ms Fitzpatrick said.

“Any money gratefully received will go straight into a trust fund for both Sienna and Tia, as they won't have their dad around to help.”
