Episode 4 of Standardbred

Sheldon Murtha, a member of the Canterbury Standardbred Breeders Association and well-known harness racing broadcaster, approached The Breeders with the idea of a TV series as a possible gap in the market, and something that could give our breeding industry a much needed push in terms of mainstream coverage.

What has materialised is incredibly exciting, with two seasons of six 30 minute episodes about standardbred breeding.

StandardBRED | Episode 4 Full

Sheldon catches up with Greg & Nina Hope to find out about what it takes to breed a NZ Horse of the year in Monbet. After yesterday's fresh up win in the Flying Mile, Monbet looks set for another HUGE season!

We also take a look at the evolution of the trotting breed and the arrival of the European/American blood on our shores, and the impact it has already had on our bloodlines in New Zealand.
