Drama Act and driver Ronnie Wrenn, Jr setting track record

Drama Act became the fastest four-year-old harness racing pacing mare in the history of Northfield Park when she won the $19,500 Fillies and Mares Open in 1:50.1 on Saturday (Dec. 4).

The previous mark was 1:50.3 and held in a three-way tie by Lakeisha Hall (Matt Kakaley) in 2017, Bye Bye Felicia (Aaron Merriman) in 2018 and Baron Remy (Kurt Sugg) in 2019.

Ron Burke trains the pacer for owner OK Corral of Hampshire, IL. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. was in the sulky for the winning drive.

Drama Act (Well Said-Lounge Act-Cam’s Card Shark) started from post eight. She left from the gate and led every call through fractions of :26.4, :55.2, 1:23.2 and 1:50.1, easily beating her competition by 2 ¼-lengths.

Drama Act now has 14 wins in 22 starts this year. Saturday’s victory represents her 22nd career score and bolstered her lifetime bankroll to $421,312. She was heavily favored and returned $2.80 to win.

DRAMA ACT REPLAY
