Downers Delight rebounds in style

HARRINGTON, DE – Tlb Racing’s Downers Delight (Bettors Delight) rebounded with a resounding 1:51.3 harness racing win in the $17,000 Delaware Special Monday at Harrington Raceway.

Downers Delight and driver Pat Berry

One week after bearing out on the final turn and ultimately yielding the win yet still finishing second as the beaten favorite, Downers Delight ($4, Pat Berry) responded with a powerful performance to win for the 6th time in 7 starts for trainer Traci Berry.  The 7-year-old Bettors Delight gelding emerged from the pocket with plenty of pace and drew clear of the field by a length with a 27.2 second last quarter over Hundred Dollar Man and pacesetter Adam Twelve.

DOWNERS DELIGHT REPLAY

One race later, Berry drove Cerulean Hanover ($7) to victory in 1:53.3 in a $10,000 conditioned pace for trainer Bobby Glassmeyer. Also on the undercard, Tribbett Racing’s Imaginary Line ($10, Allan Davis) utilized a pocket trip to surge by pacesetter Master Rigger and prevail in the sub-featured $14,500 winners-over pace for trainer Andrew Fulton. It was part of a driving double for Davis. Driver Corey Callahan celebrated his 47th birthday in winning fashion, with back-to-back triumphs with No Better Joy ($7.60) and Cattleshark ($3.60) in the 6th and 7th races.

Drivers Tony Morgan and Jason Thompson each had 3 wins on the card.
