Down Under Winners from North America

Six ANZAC bred pacers clocked sub 1:50 winning miles in North America last week.

The sextet included the Australian breds Soho Spectre, a winner at Plainridge Park in a new lifetime mark of 1:48.4 at Plainridge Park, Madrid, who won in a fresh career record of 1:49.4 at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Friday (June 27) and Uncle Shank, a winner in 1:49.4 at Mohawk on Sunday (June 28).

Soho Spectre was bred by prominent WA owner-breeder Robert Watson, Madrid was bred by NSW horseman Frank O’Sullivan and his wife Sue and Uncle Shank was bred by the Victorian Mark Elmer.

Four New Zealand breds saluted at Woodbine on Saturday (June 27), three of whom took records inside 1:50. The trio were Carrera Sunset (1:48.2), who was bred by Canterbury breeder Paul Bielby, Ultimate Racy Girl (1:49.8), who was bred by Alabar Bloodstock, and the Breckon Farms born and raised Miraculous Desbi (1:49.8).

The New Zealand bred mare Acushla Machree hoisted a fresh lifetime mark of 1:51.4 when she outsprinted her opposition in the $22,000 feature at Plainridge Park on Monday (June 22). It was her first success for the year.
