The New Zealand bred gelding Blazing Holme NZ notched his fourth harness racing success from six starts this year when he won the $16,500 Open in 1:54.2 at Saratoga Raceway on Saturday (February 14).

Seventh on settling down, the seven-year-old made his winning move in the third quarter, finishing full of running to win by a half-length.

On the same night, Soho Santorini, a seven-year-old bred by prominent WA breeder Steve Johnson, picked up his first win at his 13th attempt on American soil when he powered past his rivals in a $19,000 Claimer in 1:51.

Waitforever, a nine-year-old NZ bred daughter of American Ideal, came from last to score an upset win in the $16,500 Mares’ Open at Saratoga Raceway on Monday night (February 9). After joining the leader at the three-quarter pole, Waitforever kept plugging away to score in 1:55 flat.

The Victorian bred seven-year-old Island Bouhinia led in an ANZAC quinella with Waitforever second in the $16,500 Mares’ Open at Saratoga on Sunday (February 15). She stopped the clock in 1:55.
