Douglas lines up five for home track meeting

Ascot Park trainer Jeremy Douglas has some solid chances at the Invercargill HRC meeting at Ascot Park tomorrow.

Mighty Delight (Bettor’s Delight) formerly trained by Robert and Jenna Dunn, has had three starts for Douglas.

At his last start he sat parked for a short time before taking the lead, then a trail. In the run home Mighty Delight battled well to run fourth less than three lengths from the winner.

Pontiff (Father Patrick) takes his place in the Gold Chip Final for trotters. He won two starts ago before breaking at his last start.

Douglas has two runners in Race Six; Miki Skipper (Always B Miki) and Dragon Power (Fear The Dragon).

Miki Skipper ran a solid fourth at his last start and gets a handy draw at two to work with tomorrow.

Dragon Power also draws handy at three. He was unable to get clear at his last start and finished sixth.

Treasure Chest (Bettor’s Delight) will run in the Diamond Creek Farm/SBSR Silk Road Final (Race Eight).

She was super tough at her last start but draws the outside of the front row for the $25,000 feature.
