Dixon’s stranglehold on Ladbrokes three year old Final

Home / Australia / Dixon’s stranglehold on Ladbrokes three year old Final

Premier harness racing trainer Grant Dixon had six of the ten runners in the $100,000 Ladbrokes Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale Classic Final for three year old colts and geldings and the question was which one of his starters would prevail.

As it turned out Fight To The End (Bettors Delight) driven by Grant’s wife Trista proved to be too strong for his opponents.

FIGHT TO THE END NOV 21 REPLAY

Amanda Turnbull on Stay Foolish was able to hold the lead but favourite Rags For Riches driven by Grant Dixon tested him for the early lead and the first quarter was run in a fast 27.2 seconds. Sweet Lad Jujon secured the one out and one back. Meanwhile Fight To The End was able to come one off the fence and sit one out and three back with a lap left to travel.

Stay Foolish and Rags for Riches were quick to surrender as Fight to the End maintained a sustained run out wide and draw away for a clear lead on straightening. Fight To the End had too much class at the end over Happy As Can Be who was doing his best work at the finish with Sweet Lad Jujon in third ahead of Ultimate Ark which gave the Dixon stable the first four placings.

Fight to the End is raced by Kevin Seymour who raced his dam Faith Prevails. She was a useful mare with seven wins for a 21 start career and was trained by Mark Litchwark throughout her career and driven by Luke McCarthy.

Faith Prevails has been a prolific producer at stud with all her previous ten progeny recording wins. And they include Feel the Faith (17 wins) Frankie Rocks (23 wins), Fame Assured (24 wins) and Fast Tracker (17 wins).

Unfortunately since Fight To The End Faith Prevails has missed on three occasions. However Fight To The End could well prove to be the best of his dam’s progeny on what has shown so far.
