Deus Ex wins in 1:51.4

Deus Ex, a New Zealand bred gelding by Changeover, sliced 3.4 seconds off his previous record when he clocked a sizzling 1:51.4 over 1660 metres at Albion Park on Saturday (October 2).

The five-year-old led throughout for a commanding 11.4 metres win and is now undefeated in three starts on Australian soil.
Deus Ex has won 10 of his 39 starts for $94,951 in stakes.

The Changeover three-year-old Justanextragrand also completed a winning hat trick at Globe Derby Park on the same night.

Despite sitting parked, the gelding hoisted a career-best 1:57.4 over 1800 metres in notching his seventh success.

Rudi Sarnel, a winner at Globe Derby in 1:56.5 and the winner of seven of his 13 starts, Owes Me Dough (Timaru, NZ), Glengarry Knight NZ (1:53.6, Yonkers Raceway) and Sudden Change NZ (1:56.2, Saratoga Raceway) were other recent winners sired by Changeover.

Changeover, the NZ Cup and Derby hero, stands at Burwood Stud on Queensland’s Darling Downs.
