With NZB Standardbred Group One alumni featuring the likes of current racing stars Arafura (NZ),  Marketplace (NZ) and
Republican Party (NZ)  to name a hot few, buyers will be keen to get to the Karaka and Chirstchurch sales grounds to snap up siblings to racetrack stars that are on offer at the 2026 edition of the National Yearling Sale  in just a few days’ time.

• Ardgowan Lodge will present Lot 255, a chestnut colt by the trotting sire Timoko from Dwindle Mist (NZ) who has produced multiple Group One winner Harry Stamper (NZ) (Majestic Son).

• Lot 271, a colt by Downbytheseaside from Galleons Pleasure (NZ) will be offered by Beaudine Breeding, making this a half sibling to Group One performer Treacherous Gall (NZ) (Captaintreacherous)

  L.Smith will present Lot 289 for Taffy Ltd, a blue-blooded colt by Captaintreacherous from Imaginary Bet (NZ) who has produced Champion pacer Merlin (NZ) (Art Major), and Group One winner Captains Mistress (NZ) (Captaintreacherous).

• A half brother to Harness Million and Group One winner Stella Rouge (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) will be offered by Dancingonmoonlight. Lot 295 is by American Ideal.

• Studholme Bloodstock will offer the first live foal from Group One winning star True Fantasy (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight). Lot 194 is a colt by Captaintreacherous.

• Lot 237 is from multiple Group One winner Belle of Montana (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight). The colt by Art Major will be offered under Dunvegan Lodge’s banner.

NZB’S 2026 National Standardbred Yearling Sale is set to take place at Karaka on Monday 16 February from 1pm, and at Christchurch on Wednesday 18 February from 11am.

Buyers wishing to purchase remotely can participate via NZB’s user-friendly online bidding platform standardbred.bidonline.nzb.co.nz, while all buyers and agents are welcome to attend the Sale in person at Karaka and Christchurch.

All horses purchased at the Sale are eligible for NZB Standardbred’s lucrative Harness Million Sales Race Series. The Series consists of principal two-year-old and three-year-old races for colts and geldings, fillies and trotters individually, where NZB Standardbred graduates can contest for their share in a one-million-dollar prizepool.
