Cran critiques Cup Day
Canterbury horseman Cran Dalgety has some top end stock on his Kentuckiana property at the moment, with inform Aussie pacer Swayzee (Rock N Roll Heaven) and unbeaten filly Mantra Blue (Sweet Lou) joining the harness racing talent that already lives there.
Dalgety gets excited at this time of year and next week’s $750,000 IRT New Zealand Trotting Cup has come up with two favourable marbles for Republican Party (Bettor’s Delight, 2) and Krug (Bettor’s Delight, 3).
Dalgety says Republican Party is in good form at the moment and relaxed about his big assignment on Tuesday.
Stablemate Krug is also in a good place and draws beside Republican Party at three.
Three year old Franco Sinatra (Captaintreacherous) draws six in the TAB Junior Free For All and after winning when resuming last month was disappointing at his last start running eighth. However Cran says there was a good reason for that dip in form.
The stable also has a runner in the Nevele R 50 Years of Success Final with Sweet Coco (Sweet Lou) getting a nice front line draw.
When asked about instructions for his horses on Cup Day, Dalgety was clear about how the messaging is delivered.
Cran rates Watermelon Sugar (Sweet Lou) in Race Twelve as the stable’s best bet.
