The Roll With Joe gelding started third for Luke Hanners and remained in line through the :28.3 first quarter mile. Hanners motioned the horse off the pylons near the halfway point, which leader Epaulette A (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) hit in :58.

Cheyenne Ryan Lee made inroads as they traveled through the third panel and continued gaining after a brief response from the leader at three-quarters in 1:26.2. Cheyenne Ryan Lee maintained his pace around the far turn and swept by Epaulette A to score in 1:54.4.

Epaulette A took place by a narrow margin over Camwood (Cory Stratton), who finished third.
