Chestnut rallies to win Prix de Brionne

Sweden bred Chestnut (8m  Jacose-Quandy-Gazouillis) rallied from 12th to win the Prix de Brionne (purse 52,000€, 2850 meters, 14 European starters ages 6-10) at Paris-Vincennes timed in 1.13.3kr.

Off at 8.4/1 odds this Daniel Reden trainee was reined by Paul Philippe Ploquin for Pop N Paula AB as Chestnut won for the first time in France in four starts and he advanced career earnings to 151,740€.

Janzibar (6g Dollar Macker-Adriennedu Citrus) at  7/1 odds was second for Alexandre Abrivard, trainer L.C. Abrivard and breeder/owner Jean Pierre Barjon. Jotunn du Dome (6g Seduissant Fouteau-Cherie du Domme) was third at 2.9/1 odds driven by breeder/owner/trainer Philippe Daugeard. Dragowski (6m Algiers Hall) was fourth at 7.6/1 driven by Eric Raffin for conditioner H.EW. Bondo and owner Vaporino Srl. Five of the first seven finishers were owned and trained by non-France interests.
