There was plenty of action around him, but Bronski (Bettor’s Delight) remained calm and in the hands of Gemma Thornley he finished best to win Race Three at Addington tonight.
As Carolan Questro came around the field the leader Tomogalak appeared to take fright and broke, putting the harness racing field into disarray.
Once the field straightened for the run home Thornley came wide and managed to get a nice buffer on the challengers.
“He was a little bit flat when the speed went on down the back and I was a bit worried. I thought hopefully I could hold on, because I could hear them coming and he was getting tired, but to his credit he tried bloody hard,” Gemma said.
At the line Bronski who paid $34.80 to win, had a length to spare over a fast finishing Mighty Flying Miki.
BRONSKI REPLAY

Trained at Aylesbury by Donna Williamson, it was five year old gelding’s fourth win and his third for this season.
“His recent form is really good and he’s been racing really well and in better company, especially last week. Secretly Craig (Thornley) and I thought we could get a bit of money tonight. He got out of the gate as good as he could and it worked out perfectly.”

Bronski is out of Turn To Gold, making him a half-brother to Spellbound, the winner of fourteen races – five for Robert Dunn and then nine for Nathan Purdon when he was training in Australia.
