Bondy gets another win with Bullit train
Mataura trainer Lyndon Bond is doing a great job with trotter Bullit Train (What The Hill).
The six year old has been in the Bond stable since May after racing for most of his career for Ashburton trainer Terry McMillan.
Bond now shares in the ownership of the gelding with McMillan and Patina Gaugler and from nine starts the horse has now won three races and recorded a second placing.
“He’s a very nice old horse and I’m thankful to Terry for sending him down to me,” Bond said.
Stablemate Andy Hall led early before Jaccka Ace took up the running with 1600 metres to run, leaving Bullit Train parked. At the 800 Bullit Train was starting to get on the job and was up eyeballing Jaccka Ace, the two going stride for stride. Turning in, the two leaders were level pegging with Andy Hall stalking them. By halfway down the straight Bullit Train had mastered Jaccka Ace but Andy Hall came up the inside to get within a head of Bullit Train, making it a Bond quinella.
BULLIT TRAIN REPLAY

“Carter was happy with him. He stepped away. He can be a bit slow and pacey early, but he made a good start, was put into the race and he was too good in the end.”

Bond was equally as happy with the performance of runner-up the one hundred and thirty two starts veteran Andy Hall.
“Okay, he’s stepped back in grade but he’s still wanting to be there so we’ll keep chugging away and over a bit of distance a win is imminent.”
