Blake close to major milestone

WILL reinsman Blake Fitzpatrick crack 2000 winners tonight at Penrith?

If so, the Premiership-winning driver will have to salute with his two drives on the seven-race card.

Sitting on 1998 wins, Fitzpatrick’s first chance to add to that is with Caribbean Summer in race two, where he is dually represented as a trainer with Kelly Louise also engaged.

Fitzpatrick’s next chance will be with Pearl Button in race seven. The maiden filly has placed in her two starts this preparation.

If he does not achieve the milestone tonight, Fitzpatrick has drives at Newcastle on Friday and also at Menangle on Saturday night.
