New faces in $30,000 Open

DOVER, Del. — Four new faces – Bettor's Edge, Fearless Diablo, Vapor n and Ricimer A – join the $30,000 Preferred Open Handicap pace on Monday, Nov. 7. Post time for the 15-race harness racing program is 4:30 p.m. Two $20,000 DSBF 1st leg prelim on the pre-race non wagering card. Cosby and Master Clave are the colts to beat in the early $20,000 non-wagering events.

On the main card, Dancing Yankee, a $1.5-million winner, owned by Richard Lombardo and L&J Racing finished second in a 1:49.3 mile last week for trainer Josh Green with Tim Tetrick driving, leaves from outside post 8 in the feature. Hard-hitting Bettor's Edge, who has banked $1.87 million for Weaver Bruscemi, M1 and Burke Racing stables, gets the services of Yannick Gingras. Mike Cassalino and trainer Dylan Davis bring Fearless Diablo, one of this season's best from the Mid-West; will be handled by Corey Callahan.

Vapour N fresh from a 1:50.2 mile, his third straight win, arrives with Pat Berry in the bike for JCraparotta & PBerry Racing and Tony and Alma Iafelice's recent import from Australia, Ricimer A, with Ross Wolfenden at the controls, make up half the field of eight.

Cajon Lightning, an impressive opening day winner with Art Stafford Jr. teaming with trainer Eric Ell and owners Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar, Steve Iaquinta and Minisink Farms, J.L. Sadowsky's Te Kawau N with Tony Morgan and Janet Hudson and JoAnn Looney King's Little Ben and Vic Kirby complete the fast starters.

An $18,000 3,4&5-Year-Old Open pace heads the strong undercard and marks the return of Bruce Kennedy and Tri County Stable's $1.15 million winner at three, Wakizashi Hanover (Tetrick). Soto (Art Stafford Jr.) brings a two-race win streak for owners Wood, Dittmar and Iaquinta. Other who won their previous starts are Sweet Rock (Allan Davis) for owners R.A. Hazzard, G.P. Calloway and Legacy Racing, Limelight Beach (Gingras), a winner of two straight for Weaver Bruscemi, Wingfield Brothers, M1 and Burke Racing, while Sharon Wyatt, Robin West and Ron Benton's Remember Me VK (Montrell Teague) from the rail finished second last time out. Arque Hanover (Callahan) was a beaten favorite last start for owners Abe Basen, T.A. Lazzaro and Robert Cooper Stables. The only three-year-old in the field drew outside post 8, Arty Foster's Sentencing Memo (Russell Foster).

A pair of $15,000 Winners-Over paces head the strong undercard.

The top filly and mare pacers, meet in the $20,000 Open on Tuesday's 15-race card . Top trotters head Wednesday's program with all four rich Matron Stakes for male and female three-year-old trotters and pacers race Thursday, Nov.10.

Monday through Thursday post time is 4:30 p.m. No racing on Friday and Saturday. Sunday racing now starts at 5; 30 p.m.
