Bet N Win on target for the Inter Dominion with debut win in Sydney

Star New Zealand trotter Bet N Win (What the Hill) showed that he is right on target for the forthcoming Inter Dominion Trotting Championship when he scored a most impressive win in the Ainsworth AGTSlots.com trots mobile at Menangle on Saturday evening.

The Kiwi raider has proved to be one of New Zealand’s most accomplished trotters and emerged as a rising star when in May he took out $200,000 Group One Reharvest Rowe Cup at Alexandra Park.

So there was tremendous interest at Menangle when Bet N Win was making his Australian debut. Starting a warm favourite Bet N Win was expected to win with his only danger considered to be the Victorian Harry Stamper who had travelled up to Sydney for the event.

Harry Stamper eventually found the lead but his driver Anthony Butt eventually held up the lead to Bet N Win’s driver Bob Butt.

From then on the five year old gave a faultless display in front. Both Harry Stamper and Speedy Lover gave chase but Bet N Win in running his last quarter in 27.8 seconds cruised to a six metres win untouched by Butt. His overall mile rate of 1.58.6 for the 2300 metres will top him up before he commences his Brisbane campaign.

Harry Stamper and Speedy Lover filled the placings but were no match for the winner.

His potential forthcoming clash with Australian star Arcee Phoenix who also won at Melton on Saturday evening  will be eagerly awaited as well as the presence of London To A Brick and Oscar Bonavena.
