CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Top-class pacing action takes center stage Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park with a pair of featured events highlighted by the $5,100 Preferred pace in race 11 and the Fillies & Mares PEISHOA Pace in race 7.

Charlottetown Driving ParkThe capital oval has a 12-dash presentation slated to start at 12:30 P.M., for the final scheduled card of the Winter Meet.

The $5,100 Preferred pace in race 11 brings together a compact but high-quality group, headlined by Bee Two Bee from post 5. Jason Hughes drives for trainer Ashley Gamester and owners Donald MacRae and Blair Maclauchlan. The nine-year-old son of Sunshine Beach has been razor sharp, riding a six-race winning streak at Charlottetown and showing the ability to dominate both on the front and from off the pace.

The Post Time Picks lean his way.

“Bee Two Bee has reeled off six straight victories, and his last three wins have been front-end missions. In this compact field of five, Hughes should be able to get to the front uncontested, so I’m betting they cruise to their seventh consecutive win.”

TH Boomtown is a major threat from post 4 with Gilles Barrieau aboard for trainer Ronald Matheson. The Captain Crunch gelding has been ultra-consistent at the Preferred level late in the meet. Captainofrocknroll, from post 3, adds further depth with Ken Murphy driving for trainer Jennifer Doyle after racing well in recent top-level assignments since coming to Canada.

Also in the mix is Brigus, leaving from the rail for trainer Nicholas Oakes with Adam Merner driving, while Malignity rounds out the field from post 2 for Paul Langille, who handles both the training and driving duties.

The Fillies & Mares PEISHOA Pace in race 7 carries a $4,200 purse and features a deep and evenly matched lineup of distaffers.

Lady Devine draws post 2 with Drew Campbell driving for trainer Jennifer Doyle. The Heston Blue Chip mare has been racing steadily against top company all season. Promise Me Later has rail control for Corey MacPherson and trainer Luke Burke, and her inside draw could play to her advantage.

Shake N Blake, from post 4, gets Ken Murphy in the bike for Doyle with her signature late closing kick while Therealprincess leaves from post 5 with Barrieau driving for trainer Ronald Matheson as a major threat. Brokeandoutofgas completes the field from post 3 with Paul Langille driving for trainer Tammy Collings.
