Be Happy Mach Continues to Build Momentum
Since the untimely passing of champion Somebeachsomewhere, the Australian breeding industry has been waiting for a son of Mach Three to emerge as a genuine force in the stallion ranks. Be Happy Mach is shaping as the one to do it.

The former juvenile star is quickly becoming one of the most exciting young sires in Australia, and his first commercial crop is delivering exactly the type of early results breeders look for. He currently heads the First Season Sires’ table with four winners from 11 starters, the latest being Darcy Be Dreaming, who scored impressively at Launceston on Sunday evening.
Driven by Jack Watson and trained by his mother, Juanita McKenzie, Darcy Be Dreaming showed good gate speed to lead and was never headed.
Darcy Be Dreaming joins a growing list of early two‑year‑old winners by the stallion, including Machzine Mahoney, who produced a sharp Bathurst victory in April, Be Better, successful at Coolamon, and Nangara Tulhurst. Together they give the son of Mach Three a rapidly building strike‑rate that is turning heads across the breeding landscape.
Standing at Jake Stockton’s Windgate Farm at Alfredtown near Wagga (NSW), Be Happy Mach has already produced 11 runners from a debut crop of 46, and his early momentum has propelled him straight to the top of the freshman standings.
“We are just so excited with his progeny doing what we believed they would do — he’s definitely worth considering by any breeders in the future,” Stockton said.
The stallion’s early success comes as no surprise given his own race record. Be Happy Mach was a genuine juvenile standout, winning 10 of his 11 starts at two, including two Group 1 victories in the Breeders Crown and the NSW Breeders Challenge. Those performances earned him the title of Australian 2YO Colt & Gelding Pacer of the Year.
His racing career was cut short after just one start at three due to injury, but the brilliance he showed on the track is now being stamped unmistakably on his progeny.
Beyond his own performance, Be Happy Mach boasts a deep maternal pedigree. He is out of the Washington VC mare Behappysam, who has produced three stakes winners and hails from one of New Zealand’s leading classic families.
Early winners. Strong demand. Elite juvenile credentials. Be Happy Mach is presenting the profile breeders want — and the results to back it up.
