By Art Major out of the six-time winner Miss Atlanta—who is also the dam of last weekend’s Melton winner Zanda Man—Baystyle continues a strong family trend for the Glynns.

A dairy farmer and long-time hobby breeder, Des Glynn first tasted success back in 1978 when Green Fire won at Murray Bridge. Since then, the couple has produced several quality performers, none better than Group 1 star Majestic Cruiser, winner of The Blacks A Fake and runner-up in both the New Zealand Cup and NZ Free-For-All. Majestic Cruiser retired with 23 wins, 37 placings and $896,757 in earnings.

On Tuesday night, with Geoff Webster taking the reins, Baystyle worked to the front from barrier five after early leader Remarli elected to take a trail. Showing good professionalism in the run home, the gelding pulled clear to score by 3.5 metres from Lambro Louella, with Remarli holding third a further 2.5 metres away.

Stopping the clock in 2:03.2 for the 1720 metres, Baystyle now boasts two wins and a second from three starts.

Webster, a former South Australian, was one of the state’s dominant horsemen—six-time leading driver between 1998 and 2004 and four-time premier trainer—and will return to his home state on Anzac Day when Baystyle contests the  $16.000 Kindergarten Final.
