Australian Analyst – Gloucester Park Preview 26th June
Race-by-race Gloucester Park harness racing preview.
Gloucester Park hosts a 10-race card on Friday night, headlined by The Lewis for the fillies and mares.

In one of the most competitive races, it is $4.60 the field as seven runners are in single figures. That will be the fifth event on the program.
The 3YO event sees a new horse from New Zealand with Lincoln Lover set to battle Manuka Bay and Better Together.
Gloucester Park Preview – Friday, June 26
Race 1
KINKY NZ (12) ran a good second behind stablemate Munroes Mate at her most recent start. Deni Roberts will likely send her around to the breeze at some stage to sit outside CHARIVARI (2) who looks the leader in the race. Her recent form is good, and she should run another strong race.
CHARIVARI (2) can be a tough horse to catch. His best is very good, but he can also be plain too. He gets his chance to win here from the front end. WHEN IN VEGAS (8) has the wide draw but is classy and can still win. Next best is SHES A TINY DANCER (11) who prefers to run a place more often than win.
Selections: 12-2-8-11
KINKY NZ (12) to win
Race 2
SAIFA NZ (10) is going to need luck from the inside of the back row and they will be hoping THELITTLE MASTER (1) can muster to hold the front as SKYLORD (3) may take a look for the lead early. Whether he trails or sits three back on the fence, SAIFA NZ (10) will need luck. His past two runs have been encouraging. Has each-way prospects in this event.
RUMBLE STRIP NZ (9) has to overcome the car park draw which he couldn’t do last time and this looks just as hard. IDEAL MUSCLE (11) and FINAL COLLECT NZ (12) could both surprise at odds.
Selections: 10-1-9-3
SAIFA NZ (10) each way
Race 3
IM LIGHTNING BANNER NZ (1) gets a chance to try and lead all the way as he has the gate speed to hold the front. He has placed in three of his past five starts and won’t get a better opportunity to set the pace as he drops in grade on recent efforts.
OUR CRUNCH TIME NZ (4) may have to park outside the leader which would give ULTIMATE MIKI (2) some 1 out 1 back cover. Both of those are the main dangers in the race. The best roughie is CHIVALRY NZ (9) who is the other potential breeze horse. The draw is not kind though, so it won’t be easy.
Selections: 1-2-4-9
IM LIGHTNING BANNER NZ (1) to win
Race 4
SWEET PINS NZ (4) was given a brilliant drive from Gary Hall Jnr last start to land the cash and should go close to winning again. He should be on the speed again, whether that’s in the breeze or opting for some cover as I can’t imagine the front is up for grabs unless CAMS BOULDER (3) could cross early.
MUNROES MATE NZ (1) steps up in class and despite a moderate-looking win, both visually and on the clock, I am sure there is more to this gelding. He looks a good chance tonight. HALE SAINT LOUIE NZ (10) will trail the polemarker and based on last start, looks a great each-way play at around the $17 mark. YOURE SO FINE NZ (12) is the other key hope at good odds.
Selections: 4-1-10-12
HALE SAINT LOUIE NZ (10) each way
Race 5
SWEET COCO NZ (7) goes on top in one of the hardest races to decipher as the barrier draw has made this wide open. This mare won in 1:53.7 last start at Pinjarra over the 1684m. Prior to that, she had three-straight duck eggs next to her name. She can mix her form which is concerning, but the odds are big enough here to have a play at around the $6 mark.
I can make a case for more than half this field, so I could still be missing the winner in my numbers. I’d go wide if playing a Quaddie as this opening leg looks tricky. RAKLOU NZ (3) is another who mixes her form, but the best version can win. RUBY LOVERA (12) can let things unfold and sprint home strongly. EASTBRO CHRISSY (8) and STARLIGHT DREAM (6) are the sectional stars on my figures.
Selections: 7-3-12-8
SWEET COCO NZ (7) to win
Race 6
SPITFIRE (6) looks ready to win after a brief freshen up. He has the quickest sectional times in the race, is capable of working in the breeze, and has form around Mad Monday, Golden Lode and Lincoln Lou. So many positives here and the lead is potentially up for grabs too. If he finds the rail, he should be winning.
ARISTA NZ (7) draws directly outside which makes things harder but he is on the way up for Team Bond. Looks the main danger as he is fit and has won five of his past six starts. DOURADO (4) and SOHO THE REAL DEAL (12) are the other winning contenders in the race – the former is first up without a trial.
Selections: 6-7-4-12
SPITFIRE (6) to win
Race 7
MAXIMUM ROCK (8) is versatile for the Voak Train and despite a 30m handicap, he looks to have good each-way prospects as he drops in class from recent runs. Continues to run in the top five each start, with small beaten margins behind Youre So Fine and Opal Hunter despite bad draws. He has won three from six behind the tapes too.
LUVBITE (9) is flying for Michael Young. Kylah Madden is a young driver that is getting better with experience, already recording more wins than last season alone from less drives. This gelding has won four of his past five starts, including the York Cup. Lots of other chances too with STORMY VISTA NZ (3) favourite from the front.
Selections: 8-9-3-6
MAXIMUM ROCK (8) each way
Race 8
This one will be brief. This race is very open, and I have no strong opinion here. Almost need to get the dart board out to come up with the selections so take them with a grain of salt.
Selections: 6-9-12-3
Race 9
JAXON MORGAN (8) narrowly missed behind Arista last start at huge odds and this is a more suitable class. The draw isn’t ideal which may force Vance Stampalia to go forward and look for some cover on ME FLASH (9) who should seek that spot after a Pinjarra win using those tactics. JAXON MORGAN (8) has some class on most runners here and if the right run is obtained, he can prove hard to beat.
ME FLASH (9) is the main danger ahead of IDEAL INTEREST (7) who is racing well too. CATCH THE RED EYE (3) returns and is the query runner of the field. MAJOR BUZZ (1) is enjoying the new stable and could improve as he jumps up in class after winning back-to-back races.
Selections: 8-9-7-1
JAXON MORGAN (8) to win
Race 10
LINCOLN LOVER NZ (5) makes his WA debut with two wins from 20 starts in New Zealand. Has trialled up well for this and will need to show his best form as he bumps into BETTER TOGETHER NZ (1) and MANUKA BAY NZ (2) who are sure to test him. Still has strong claims and there may be better odds closer to race time.
Considering this is the “get out stakes”, let’s just go a bit crazy here with a complete throw at the stumps too. GENTLEMANS PROMISE (7) has a lot of negatives here, mainly the draw being against him in a race where there may not be too much tempo. He beat Bettor Behave three runs back and that horse would be right in this race. So, on that basis, I am going to have something small on him too.
Selections: 5-2-1-7
LINCOLN LOVER NZ (5) to win & GENTLEMANS PROMISE (7) to win
Summary
Best Bet: Race 6 – SPITFIRE (6)
Next Best: Race 3 – IM LIGHTNING BANNER NZ (1)
Best Value: Race 2 – SAIFA NZ (10)
Best Roughie: Race 4 – HALE SAINT LOUIE NZ (10)
