Leading Western Australian nursery Allwood Stud will be kept busy at the Australian Pacing Gold Perth Yearling Sale, to be held on Sunday, March 1. With a big draft of 15 yearlings that is stacked with talent, owner Bob Fowler rates them equal, if not better, than any his historic farm have presented to date.

The 2024 WA Breeder of the Year, Bob has been a regular vendor at the WA yearling sales for more than four decades, having bred and sold numerous Group, cup, classic and metropolitan winning performers.
The list of stars bred and raised at the Bullsbrook property reads like a who’s who of WA harness racing and includes Hilarion Star, Flashing Star, Buck The Odds, Military Master, Lord Willoughby, Sheer Rocknroll, Smooth Business, Lady Willoughby and Veiled Secret.
Allwood Stud’s Class of 2026 comprises the progeny of WA’s leading sire Fly Like An Eagle (6 lots), the triple Miracle Mile winner King Of Swing (3), champion sire Art Major (1) and last season’s leading WA first crop sire Ultimate Sniper (4).
A feature of the draft is a colt, Lot 326, from the final crop of the deceased stallion Rock N Roll World.
The pick of the colts are a trio sired by Fly Like An Eagle in Lot 388, who is out of a full sister to the champion En Zedder Akuta, Lot 370, whose dam is a half-sister to the multiple NSW Group winner Blazin N Cullen, and Lot 345, who is from a daughter of Australia’s first ever million dollar female Tailamade Lombo.
“They’re all from tremendous families,” Bob said.
Among the Allwood fillies expected to command plenty of attention are a pair sired by King Of Swing, one out of The Art Of Dance (Lot 316) and the other from Our Citation (Lot 332).
“The Art Of Dance filly is an outstanding individual, while the filly from Our Citation is also a very nice type,” he said.
