All-time record price at Redcliffe Yearling Sale

A new record price for a yearling sold at the Garrard’s Redcliffe Yearling Sale was set yesterday afternoon when a striking son of first season sire Colt Thirty One was knocked down for $55,000.

Lot 22

The half-brother to the Redcliffe Sales Classic winner Bettor Cullect was consigned by Kevin and Kay Seymour’s Solid Earth and purchased by prominent Burpengary owner Bev Oberthur, a regular buyer at the Redcliffe sale.

Another colt by Colt Thirty One, a millionaire son of Mach Three, brought $28,000.

Seven lots sold for at least $20,000 on the day.

The sale grossed $534,000 for 41 lots sold, an average price of $13,024.

“It was a terrific sale. The energy of the buyers was fantastic,” sales spokesman Kerry Ebert said.
