All class – Secret Wish
Fresh up and a sitting duck to be run down, Secret Wish (Bettor’s Wish) trained by Hayden and Amanda Cullen showed all her qualities to win todays $30,000 Heat Four of the Nevele R Fillies Series at Oamaru.
Driver Blair Orange took the three year old straight to the top from barrier one with second favourite Indulge Me hot on her back.
“Having Nathan’s one (Indulge Me) on our back was our big concern because she’s a nice filly. We were fresh up and he’d had a run under his belt. But we got a real nice soft lead and she found the line nicely,” said Hayden.
At the line Secret Wish was a length and a half in front of Indulge Me with Miki’s Deal four and three quarters lengths back in third.
SECRET WISH REPLAY

The winning time of 2-22.7 was a new track record, lowering Winelight’s 2-23.9 set last year.
“It didn’t look as though they were going that quick, but the track is in great order.”
Cullen says he hasn’t seen too much change in Secret Wish since her last campaign.
“She’s a lightly framed filly and she hasn’t bulked up, but you can probably put a bit more work into her now. She’s pretty highly rated now so we’ll just run through the Nevele R heats with her.”
