All Bets Off filly claims Champlain Stakes

Brilliant All Bets Off two-year-old filly Pass Line added the $89,500 Champlain Stakes to her list of classic harness racing successes at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday night (Sep 10).

Starting from the outside No. 7 gate, Pass Line, the track record holder, settled down in fourth position before brushing to the lead at the half-mile.

Kicking home in 26.8, Pass Line was completely untroubled to win by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:50.4.

She has won seven of her nine starts and $231,800 in stakes.

PASS LINE REPLAY

On the same card the All Bets Off three-year-old Moment Is Here finished runner-up in a $171,000 division of the Simcoe Stakes.

Other winners by All Bets Off last week included the three-year-olds New Shooter 1:51.4, Matt’s Gem 1:52.8, Steadyaswego 1:55 and Howmac Victor 1:55.

All Bets Off, whose semen ‘down under’ is available from Tourello Standardbreds in Tasmania, has three-year-old progeny earnings this year totalling almost $1.2million.

Smiling Shard and Lincoln Royal, stablemates of All Bets Off at Tourello, sired some useful winners this week. Smiling Shard left the 1:53.6 Albion Park three-year-old winner Smirks Lika Boss and Batavia Streamline (Kellerberrin, WA), while Lincoln Royal was represented by another three-year-old winner at Albion Park in Happy Go Lincy NZ (1:54.3), who has won three of his six starts to date.
