Frustration at finding suitable races!

At the Addington harness racing trials on Monday, Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen had an impressive team of horses nominated with most producing great performances.

There is however a growing sense of frustration around the All Stars stables.

They are building up a strong band of two year olds but finding suitable races for them is proving elusive.

Some, like Anthem (2c Bettor's Delight – La Soiree) for example will probably have to make his debut in a Group race, the Welcome Stakes in which the stable will probably have a large number of runners purely because of lack of alternatives.

"The babies went terrific today, really all of them did well " Natalie said" But finding races is another thing. It is likely we will be taking at least two down south again to give them a good buildup. Otherwise they will be going into the Sires Stakes heats first up and they come back to back so it all happens at once.

They are coming along well now and as I say I was happy with all of them. I like the way Bare Knuckle is going for one. She is learning the ropes well and keeps stepping up but there are others in the same boat"

On Friday night at Addington the All Stars stables are bringing out the big guns, with New Zealand Cup winner Lazarus competing against wayward stablemate Heaven Rocks in the Superstars Championship.

That race is only one of the highlights in an amazing night of racing with five group races programmed on the card.
