DOVER, Del. — After postponement of Tuesday racing due to weather conditions, harness racing resumes on Wednesday when Earl's Speeder, a winner of his last two and three of four, returns in the $15,000 4&5-Year-Old trot, the feature race on Wednesday, March 15 at Dover Downs. First post is 4:30 p.m.
Montrell Teague will drive Dennis, Johannsen, Holly Case and trainer Bob Reeser's, Bluebird Reverend, who took a misstep as favorite last Wednesday, after winning the week before in 1:54 drew post 1. Celebrity Pegasus racing for Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar, Steve Iaquinta and Minisink Farms scored a decisive win last week from post 8 with Art Stafford Jr. and leads the opposition. Tom Dillon's Hollywood Highway also has been racing will for Corey Callahan. She has a lot of class racing in sophomore stakes last year and is fresh from victory last week giving her two wins in her last three races.
Steel Reserve has been racing well for trainer-driver Vic Kirby and Chris Giaccio. Bobby Glassmeyer's Tymal Signature with driver Jonathan Roberts has been victim of outside post position in most of her 2017 starts. A newcomer to the field, Adam Friedland and Brian Carsey's Triumphant's Chip won recently at Freehold and gets Tim Tetrick to drive this time.
Another interesting trot has eight starter going for $12,000. CC Racing's Il Mago (Tetrick) who closed out 2016 with a pair of wins looks to entering the win column this year after two second-place finishes in six starts. Martin Sternberg and Stake Your Claim Stable's Uva Hanover (Tony Morgan) will be tough from the rail. Five Towns (Frank Milby),claimed twice in five weeks, makes his first start for Tate Lewis. RBH Stable's War Cry Hall (Callahan) returns to Dover where he won his last two starts back in January.
Leigh Raymer and John Whitby's Buddy Hally (Teague), I'm So Striking (Eddie Dennis) for owners Lois and Earl Walters and E&K Stable and Justin Nikodemski's Dreamfair Bogart (Allan Davis) complete the starting field.
Weekday post time for Monday through Thursday racing is 4:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are dark days. Parking and admission are free.
