Harness racing hits Motukarara again today with 12 races on the card. The racing starts at 11:40pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Lord Mudrick (1) Ok last start and has won on the track in the past. Can run top three with luck
Times Like These (10) Looked to be very unlucky last start. Top driver sticks with and can go close
Always Bee Gee (2) Getting better with racing and grass should suit here. Has winning claims

Race 2

Macho Man (13) Decent motor but manners need to show his best form. Has to be included here
Morrie Afton (9) Will be fitter and last run was that of an improver. One for longer odds in this
B K Mumma Jamie (19) Bad draw but has placed here in the past. Top three chance with luck

Race 3

Maggie Q (4) Top driver booked and gate speed to lead here. Good run expected again
Sweet Espresso (11) Ok last start and a threat to these with a good run in transit. Needed
Tallandfast (6) Has been unlucky on several occasions. Can sneak into the top three here

Race 4

Musclynn (8) Solid win last start and a winning chance again on this track. Include here
Diamond Harbour (5) Has manners and goes well the track. Should give a good account
Jasprit Trouble (7) Out of form but an improver with a place chance at longer odds in this

Race 5

Sadie  (9) Has been trialing well and should suit the grass surface. Top selection in this field
Yaldhurst Folly (6) Had excuses last start and has been freshened. Well placed here. Include
Willy Away (1) Will be fitter after getting pushed back last start. Trailing draw and can place

Race 6

Elton J (1) Easy win last start but this is harder. Drawn to lead and hard to beat from the ace
Scarlett’s Legacy (4) Should get a soft run handy. Nice win last start and this not much harder
Beaudiene Quick Step (10) Due to show form but tricky draw. Chance with a cart into the race

Race 7

Jake (1) Gets a head start on these and manners good. Can go back to back in this field
Playing With Stars (12) Tricky draw but better than the form suggests. Winning claims
He’s A Bay (5) Freshened and should get a good run near the speed. Top three chance

Race 8

Gliding High (7) In great form and will be running on. Needs the right trip but good chance
Heaven’s Mark (8) Decent motor and wide draw the only concern. One of the main hopes
The Next Best Thing (13) Big run to win last start. Will continue to improve and go again here

Race 9

Judine (10) Pegs draw suits and has won from there in the past on the track. One for longer odds
Flyaway (9) Decent motor and wide draw the only concern. Opened at great odds and can place
Melton Magnate (11) Has consistent form and grass suits. Hard to beat if he gets the run to suit

Race 10

Oscar Bonavena  (20) Has raced and beaten better fields. Handicap hurts but grass suits and can win
Mr Love (17) Better than most in this field and won this race last year. Has to be respected in this
One Over All  (19) Can do some work mid race and grass no issue. Could surprise if he goes forward

Race 11

Schoemaker (18) Grass suits and tricky draw the only concern here. Can go close here with manners
Call Dudley (13) Good form on grass and will be stronger this time in. Needed in all combinations
Pasternak (3) Likely to race close to the speed here if he steps cleanly. One of the better chances

Race 12

Tosana (8) Fought on well last start and will head forward again. Top selection in this field.
Sophia Bromac (12) Better than the form suggests. Likes it here and will be running on late
Lavra Rose (9) Won well on grass last start and rise in grade might suit. Not the worst in this
