Harness racing hits Oamaru again today with 10 races on the card. The racing starts at 12:05pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Midnight Diamond (4) Looked good winning last start and master driver on board. Can win again
Petite Trixton (2) Small field will help and should begin quickly. Should be thereabouts. Needed
Switch On (10) Getting better with racing and only needs manners to be a show. Worth including

Race 2

Elton J (3) Latest trial was good and small field will help. Great odds on opening. Winning claims
Mighty Miki (1) Has early speed to be one of the leaders and will be fitter. One of the main chances
Rockin Roman (5) Improver from her last start second and top three chance again here. Place hope

Race 3

Axel Rose (4) Solid trialist on debut and a winning chance on his home track. Will start a short fav
Muscle Dash (5) Has been good in stronger fields. Should give a good account if he gets a soft trip
Help Me (9) Out of form but improver with a place chance at longer odds. Needs manners early

Race 4

Beachbreak (7) Fought on last start in a stronger northern field. Comes south and can go close
Jesse Owens (9) Easy win last start and will get a soft pegs trip. Has high speed and hard to beat
Wavewatcher (8) Will be fitter after last start. Goes well on the track and has gate speed. Include

Race 5

Incentivise (6) Freshened and master driver on board. At his best would go close to winning this
Get Seaside Lucky (4) Should get a soft run handy. Driver change and winning claims from the draw
Seaside Brucie (3) Due to strike winning form and drawn well here. Should give an honest account

Race 6

General Jen (2) Top driver booked and has gate speed. Will go forward and looks hard to beat in this
Arafura (5) Freshened and proven against the best fillies. Gives the stable a big hand in the race
Ebony Arden (9) In good form and should get a good run on the pegs. Harder here but top three hope

Race 7

Eurostyle (16) Run down in this race last year when favourite. Goes well fresh and has a winning claims
Empire City (15) Decent motor and sure to be running on late in this field. One of the better chances
Royal Gypsy (2) Looks well placed off the front and might lead them a merry dance in this. Include

Race 8

Don’t Stop Dreaming (1) Will depend on manners but has the ability to win with the right trip. Include
Dalton Shard (10) Decent motor and has not had a lot of luck. Chance and one for longer odds in this
Akuta (2) Disappointing last start. Will continue to improve and has winning claims with manners

Race 9

Dreams Pat (6) Has looked good at trials but lets punters down on race-day. Can win with no mistakes
Cody Banner (3) Decent motor and should be fitter now. Not the worst if he gets around error free
Ready Set Jet (7) Goes well fresh. Will continue to improve and has winning claims with the right trip

Race 10

C C Arden (5) Has raced better fields. Drawn well here and looks a good bet. Can go close in this field
Lily’s A Star (4) Ok draw and recent form is quite good. Will need a soft trip but has place claims here
Major Torque (9) Better than the form suggests. Will get a soft trip and has to be respected in this
