STAKE RACES DOMINATE THIS WEEK’S SCHEDULE

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows returns to its regular summer schedule this week, with harness racing Wednesday and Thursday at 12:45pm, Friday at 5:10pm and Saturday at 12:45pm.  Thursday, Friday and Saturday will feature Pennsylvania Sire Stake and PA Stallion Series stakes.  Sophomore pacing star Louprint, fresh off a 1:49.3 official workout, is expected to enter the box on Wednesday morning for Saturday’s stake action.

MILLIONAIRES SQUARE OFF WEDNESDAY

Wednesday’s top race will feature a pair of million dollar winning mares.  Strong Poison and Grace Hill, both trained by Virgil Morgan Jr., will leave from posts 4 and 5, respectively, in the $18,000 Open Mares Pace.  Strong Poison, a 5-year-old winner of $1.1 million in her career, is 3-for-9 this year and will be driven by Brady Brown.  Grace Hill, a 7YO, is less than $34,000 shy of the $2 million dollar mark and will be driven by Dave Palone.  Grace Hill is the 9-5 morning line choice in the ninth race.

FRESHMAN FILLIES FEATURED ON THURSDAY

Two-year-old trotting fillies will take center stage on Thursday afternoon, with two divisions of the Delmonica Hanover top-level PA Sire Stake and four $20,000 splits of the PA Stallion Series.  In the first $58,176 division of the Delmonica Hanover, Ginger Tree Lex, trained by Sam Beegle and driven by Ronnie Wrenn, will take a five-race win streak into action. She took her mark of 1:54.3 in her most recent start at Pocono.  The $18,000 yearling purchase is now over $95,000 for her career.  In the second group, Trond Smedshammer’s Islandgirl Hanover comes into the race with 3 wins and a mark of 1:55.1.  She has $64,000+ in the bank in five starts.  The Roger Hammer-trained Little Road has the highest win total in the field, with 4 victories in 7 starts, and will make her PASS debut after winning two overnights at The Meadows and a pair of county fair stakes.
