Track record for Fitness First Star in juvenile action

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Fitness First rewrote the record books on Friday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The $8,000 MacDonald Family Pace was an 18-length romp in 1:54.4 as Fitness First ($2.30) scored a new track record eclipsing the 1:55.1 record held by High Roller from Nov of 2023. Corey MacPherson trains and drives for owner Jim Gorman of South Melville.

FITNESS FIRST REPLAY

Trainer-driver Adam Merner opened and closed the program winning with Den Of Thieves ($4.50) in 1:57.2 in the opener and Well Said Celeb ($3.20) in the race 11 finale in 1:54.4.

Cowboy Logic ($28.60) and driver Steven Shepherd won the Race 3 District 15 & District 17 Liberal Associations Pace in 1:55.4 for trainer Harold Shepherd.

Abc ($7.40) captured the Bob Connelly Memorial R.E.’s Stable Pace in race 5 for driver Steven Murphy and trainer Clifford Murphy with a 1:56.4 mile.

Rookie driver Zac Noye had a career moment with his first lifetime win in the Kent MacDonald MP Cardigan Pace steering Crosscut ($40.60) in a 1:57 mile for trainer Jay Noye.

Gascoigne AC ($4.00) and driver Marc Campbell won the Mick & Barb Dunn Memorial with a 1:56.1 mile for trainer Tammy Collings.

The Race 8 Collings Timbermart & Ryan’s Driving School went to Dusty Lane Levi ($16.30) and driver Jason Hughes in 1:55 from the Greg Weatherbee barn.

One Rock ($2.80) was the best in the Race 9 Trevor Tracey – Trevor Tracey Family Funeral Home Pace with a 1:56.2 victory from the Luke Burke barn.
