New Brunswick Breeders highlight New Brunswick day card

Horse Racing New Brunswick are back to love racing in a big way with over $ 69,000 in purse money for Monday’s harness racing card at 2:00 P.M at Connell Park Raceway – Woodstock NB .

New Brunswick Breeders Stakes are the main attraction with four divisions of two-year old and three-year old pacers, two colt divisions, and two filly divisions.

Race three will see five two-year old fillies, with all five starters by first crop sire, Blood Money. Going For Blood and Kenny Arsenault is the favorite on the morning line, and has drawn post one.

Going For Blood broke her maiden on Thursday night at Red Shores Charlottetown in 1:59.2. Blood Magic and driver Mike Downey also came off a win in 2:01 and is second choice by the oddsmaker. The purse is $ 15,000 per division on Monday.

Race five is an N.B Breeders Stakes for three-year old pacing colts and the smoking hot Marc Campbell and his son Landon Campbell have D J Mustang who took a new lifetime mark two starts ago in 1:54.

Like A King, owned by Jennifer Ritchie has over $ 26,000 on the season with four wins in eight starts for the son of Arthur Blue Chip. He’s the second choice in this division.

Race seven has attracted seven starters for two-year old pacing colts and geldings with the Dr. Mitchell Mark Downey Blood Money colt, Fire And Blood fresh off a 2:01.4 win for trainer and driver Mike Downey.

Tiziano is the fastest of this group early in his career and Mary Clare MacDonald trains and drives the son of Blood Money. He scored a 1:59.2 win at Truro Raceway in an overnight event.

The final $ 15,000 New Brunswick Breeders Stakes is for three-year old pacing fillies and this one is a wide open affair. My Happy Place, a New Brunswick Breeders Stakes winner at two, will have New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame driver Gilles Barrieau for trainer Ron Matheson.

Isle Bea Wickedwon and Matheson will employ the services of Dave Dowling in this division and is second in season earnings with just over $ 20,000 in 2025.

Monday will also feature the $ 2000 overnight top class with the cooler graciously sponsored by the great people at Culbert Farms.

Whats Inthe Esky A is the morning line choice for owner Robert Kitchen and driver Colin Decourcey. He has over $ 18,000 this year, and has been splitting his starts between Maine & Quebec with Connell Park Raceway closed to racing until tomorrow.

Safety precautions have been implemented for the live card of racing, The Town of Woodstock and it’s Council members cleared Horse Racing New Brunswick to proceed with live racing at a special meeting recently.
