Kentucky River takes 150th Oslo Grand Prix at Bjerke

Kentucky River (7m Father Patrick-Flicka River-Ready Cash) rallied gamely to get up for the 1.10.8kr timed harness racing victory in the 150th Oslo Grand Prix (purse to winner 1,000,000NOK, 2100 meters autostart, 10 starters, total purse 173,405€) at Bjerke.

This is the most famous international trotting  event in Norway. Off at 4.38/1 odds the winner was driven by Orjan  Kihlstrom for JimMit AB and trainer Daniel Reden. Kentucky River  secured his 15th career victory in 49 starts for 6,181,731NOK earned. Home  second was 7.94/1 odds Onas Prince (8m Chocolatier-Sobra-Pine Chip) a head back driven by his trainer and co-owner Per Nordstrom.

Devilish Hill (5g Muscle Hill-Devilish  Delight-Father Patrick) was a length back third at 10.27/1 odds handled nicely by Magnus Teien Gundersen for the Andersen Racing Team Stockholm. Charron was fourth for Geir Vegard Gundersen and Betting Pacer was fifth driven by Carl Johan Jepson. San Moteur was offstride at the start from post one.

On the undercard was the Trond Aderssens Minneslopp (purse to winner 300,000NOK, 1609 meters autostart, 10 mares starters) where Daim Brodde (5f Readly Express-Dancing in Thehall-Cantab Hall) handled by Eirik Hoitomt for trainer Thor Borg and owner Stall Tonga Racing AB.

She was off at 5.97/1 odds and defeated 2.98/1 favorite Olly Haleryd (7f Trixton-Picture FH-Sjs  Photo) driven by Orjan Kihlstrom for trainer Daniel Reden and Stall Nalta Etjest Easy. Clarissa (7f Exploit Caf-Nikelia-Lemon Dra) was third  two lengths back at 5.26/1 odds after a tough overland journey that reached the front for trainer/driver Alessandro Gocciadoro and Natalino ’96 SAS,  but she could not protect the advantage.

Finally an aged trotting event worth 150,000NOK to the winner and raced over 1609 meters autostart had 10 classy veterans at the start.

The 2/1 odds favorite Mister Hercules (8m Trixton-Baghdad Dream-Yankee Glide) scored timed in 1.10.3kr driven by Orjan Kihlstrom for  Daniel Reden/Stall Zet. Hercules was bred by Jean Pierre Barjon  and he now shows  22 career victories in 59 starts for 4,655,856NOK earned. Home second was 14.6/1 odds classmaster Stoletheshow (10m Dream Vacation-Abba  Hall-Garland Lobell) with Tom Erik Solberg driving  for trainer Frode Hamre. Mellby Joker (7g Muscle Hill-Mellby Amulett-From Above) was third at 2.47/1 odds for trainer/driver Daniel Wajersten.
