Partnering with Ready West in Race 7 for top trainer and his Swedish host, Jörgen Westholm, Herbertson made his intentions clear from the outset, spearing straight to the lead from barrier three.

The pair controlled the race throughout, with Ready West always appearing in command before cruising to a comfortable victory.

His victory was the first by an Australian at Gavle.
