Diamond Head cruises to easy win

Diamond Head (Somebeachsomeshere) captures the featured $5,500 pace on Saturday (May 10).

Diamond Head ($4.40, Justin Huckabone) went to the lead and was first to the quarter in :26.3.  He used a :29.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :55.4.  Bet On Alabama (Jimmy Whittemore) came first-up to challenge as the went around the final turn.  Diamond Head was first to three-quarters in 1:24.1.

As the made the turn for home, Second Place finisher Bet On Alabama and third place finisher Go With The Flow (Frank Affrunti) came all out after the leader.  Diamond Head found another gear and won easily in a seasonal best 1:52.0.

Diamond Head is an 8-year-old horse by Somebeachsomeshere.  He is owned by Matthew Dugan and trained by Brielle Roman.  It was his third win this season.  He now owns 20 career victories.

DIAMOND HEAD REPLAY

Huckabone drove three winners on the card.  Chris Long and Leon Bailey had driving doubles.
