Hundred Dollar Man scores a $17,000 victory

HARRINGTON, DE – Brenda Teague’s Hundred Dollar Man (Lather Up) was a 1:53.3 winner in the $17,000 Open Pace feature Monday at Harrington Raceway.  The 4-year-old Lather Up gelding emerged from the pocket full of pace to eclipse the pacesetter Itsrockandroll A in deep stretch for his 11th career harness racing win for trainer Clyde Francis. Its Rockandroll A was second with Ats Hanover third.

Montrell Teague also won the sub-featured $14,500 winners-over pace later with Armada Hanover ($3.80) who was a half-length winner over Captaincountrystar and Balder Son for his 7th win of the year for owners Legacy Racing of Delaware, Rojan Stables and Hazzard Racing Stables. The Wayne Givens-trainee is closing in on a 2nd straight $100,000 season.

HUNDRED DOLLAR MAN REPLAY

 Driver Jason Thompson, who had 3 wins on the card, won with back-to-back longshots in the 8th and 9th races as Gold Star Sven ($23.20) and Teton Sunset ($47.80) both prevailed at long odds for the 32-year-old driver. There were three straight longshots in the sequence, including two straight trained by Joe Columbo, In addition to Teton Sunset, Columbo-trained Badlands N Wine ($55.40, Jim Morand) lit up the board in the 10th with a 1:55.3 triumph. Columbo had 3 training wins on the program.
